System Administrator Network/Windows
The Information Services department is an important part of the operation of the IBM Zurich Research Laboratory and supports both the scientific-technical and administrative departments. The Application Services team, responsible for the Laboratory's IT applications, is looking for a
System Administrator Network/Windows.
In this role you will be responsible for the Remote Access solution and the VoIP infrastructure and will contribute to the maintenance and administration of the IP network (Cisco hardware) and the Windows servers (Windows domain). The work will be carried out in collaboration with other IBM Research Information Services teams around the world. The system administrator will share responsibility for third-level support of our laboratories infrastructure.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is passionate about IT, and has 2 to 5 years experience as a network and Windows administrator in a heterogeneous environment. Good knowledge of Cisco IOS, wireless networks, Windows 2003 server and Windows domain is required. Experience with multimedia protocols is desirable. Demonstrated ability to develop innovative solutions and work both independently and in a team environment is a critical selection criteria. Flexibility and service orientation are a must. An applicant should have a strong desire to work on both architecture and implementation activities. Fluently spoken and written English is required; spoken German would be a benefit.
